Bruce Davies’ all-round contribution to this bowls club was been acknowledged with the awarding of a life membership.
The nomination by Shane Carbines, and seconded by Steve Davies, and endorsed by the Committee of Management, highlights Bruce’s outstanding commitment to the club at every level.
And the nomination stresses that Bruce’s contribution continues today, as he provides a willing hand whenever it is needed.
Bruce joined the club in 1985 when we were still down near the river.

This club survives on the spirit of its volunteers. Bruce exemplifies this spirit and is a keen and active volunteer.
As Shane writes
``Goodness knows how many years Bruce has done bar duty and I know he has been involved with many and varied tasks around the clubhouse and its surrounds.
``Much of this day-to-day involvement is not formally noted in minutes and official meetings or on honour boards but must certainly have been observed by members over numerous years.’’
In the eyes of the Committee of Management, Bruce’s impressive portfolio of achievement as an outstanding bowler, administrator and volunteer over a long period means he is most worthy of being bestowed with this club’s highest honour - life membership.
