The next major event on the Social Club calendar is the Christmas Dinner to be held on Friday the 18th of December. There is a quality raffle which includes a Maxi-hamper ( courtesy of Andrew Walker), a $50.00 Westfield voucher, a lions Christmas cake and a couple of “herd aches” in the shape of wine bottles.
There will, of course, be a visit from Santa. He has hibernated during the bowls season to date, he has been secreted in his workshop and will bestow gifts and greetings to some deserving members.
Peter Perhas been a popular musician and will again sing and tickle the ivories. We hope that the evening will be lots of fun and fellowship.
Thanks to our members, especially those going away to play at other venues for suffering the Saturday raffle. Up to the 5th December $1,767.00 has been raised. This money is being used to help fund the development of A green. Just think of it as your taxes at work.
On the 7th December the Social committee passed over another $2,000.00 to the General Committee, making a sum total of $20,000.00 for the year to date.
Much of the credit must go to our wonderful kitchen staff who work so hard and effectively to provide high quality meals and service on so many different occasions. The Friday night counter teas epitomise value and quality, they enhance interaction of members in a pleasant social setting. Added to the volunteers behind the bar and the beaming Len Camm on the raffle, what better night can you have among friends.

The New Philosophy
If lawyers are disbarred, and clergymen defrocked, doesn’t it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted, cowboys deranged, models deposed, tree surgeons debarked and drycleaners depressed.

Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery.

Don’t know and not game to try and find out.
