Text Box: Belmont Bowls Club. Holiday Carnival. The best on the calander. January 2nd & 3rd. I have said it before and I will keep on saying “This is the best bowling club I have ever been a member of or visited. This was demonstrated in no uncertain terms during the running of the two day carnival. Unable to play myself I was still able to get some great comments on the quality of the greens. Congratulations to all members concerned with the work put into the greens and surrounds. The whole area looked a picture. For the first time I was able to get first hand knowledge of just how much hard work was put into the organisation of this event. The time put in by Ted, Bruce, Tony, Henry and their group of volunteers was nothing short of magnificent. The use of the computer will I am sure be a feature for future tournaments at this club. I can only imagine how much work was done by Ted, Bruce and Tony in the planning of the score boards and computer printouts which gave all players up-to-date totals of how they were progressing during the tournament. Congratulations to these men and ladies for a job well done. Once again a most sincere thanks to the Ladies in the kitchen ( great scones, jam and cream) for the salads etc for the bbq and to the volunteers who cooked the snags etc. Well done all. On the financial side I believe the club made a profit all round. Congratulations to all winners on both days. Being involved in the recording of the scores it was obvious to me that a large percentage of games were very close. It was good to see the number of our own members either winning or high up on the leader boards. Well done to all. Colin W.
